AIGA Job Bank has a new look!
Greetings!

Over the past four months, we’ve been working on a new version of AIGA Design Jobs. Much has changed, and we’re very excited about the results. With this upgrade, we’ve laid the groundwork for future expansion and features, which we’ll be rolling out through the rest of 2007 and beyond.

On the new site, the job posting function will largely remain the same; we have made some adjustments to the form, and introduced new categories for job listings. We’ve also made significant improvements to the “contact” and “how to apply” areas. Below is a very quick summary of some of the new features, geared primarily toward portfolio holders. More details are available on our announcement page, where we’ve also posted a few preview screenshots for your review. www.aigadesignjobs.org/public/aigadesignjobsV2.asp If you have comments or questions about any of this, please send email to designjobs@aiga.org and we’ll respond as best we can.

Thanks for joining us!

Networking: AIGA members can now add each other to their personal networks, and share these
networks as part of their profiles.

Tags: Individual portfolio images will now be tagged for easy browsing.

Groups: AIGA members can now create their own groups within the site. Look for narrowly focused

DESIGN RANCH EVENT PHOTOS AND RECAP:

Design Ranch Recap by Jim Prejean

This was my first time attending the Design Ranch, and it was a great experience for me! There were over 150 designers, including photographers, illustrators and other types from our industry, all gathered at the Waldermar Ranch, a fantastic and remote location for an event like this! We had beautiful weather with workshops taking place either outdoors or with windows and doors open. There were no TVs, radio, or phones in our cabins, and it was almost impossible to find a location where
your cell phone would work, so we had 3 days away from our normal hectic lives. The Guadalupe River runs right through the ranch and we had paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and a huge water slide at our disposal. I did it all of course! We were served plenty of good food at breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and the desserts were awesome! Each evening we were treated to a different band in the outdoor pavilion, a great way to top off the day. Would I go again? Why not, it beats going to a conference were you sit in dark cold rooms all day -- which by the way I still plan to attend, but I like this better!
